Let’s talk about color-blocking and monochrome. It can be pretty easy to make your Summer style look effortless and chic, especially on a budget. I am partnering with Walmart on this post to share some style tips on how to do just that. Some of my oldest and favorite fashion tricks involve the use of color-blocking and monochrome looks. Sure enough, you’ve probably already heard about these trends or “techniques”- as I prefer to call them. Outfits tend to look more polished and elevated when these techniques are done right. Here are two affordable outfits from Walmart that are perfect for summer and exude some major rich girl vibes.

Color-blocking
Color-blocking, aka wearing, different solid colored separates in one outfit. While they are usually bolder colors, you can still color block with neutrals such as black and white. I’ve got to admit, I love the clean contrast of a black and white look. Needless to say, I particularly fell in love with this long cardigan, so I got it in two colors- white and black. I would be pairing them with my slip dresses in the future.

Monochromatic looks
A common favorite by fashion aficionados, monochrome simply means wear separates of the same color palette. In this case, all white, which is quite possibly one of my fave colors to wear in monochrome. It is minimal, yet chic. Additionally, who doesn’t look a white dress in the summer? Even their tendency to get stained upon the slightest contact cannot dissuade me from wearing white all year round.
More so, this Walmart look was created for the outdoor patio, garden party or even a yacht/boat outing in mind (if you roll like that). The cardigan comes in handy for cooler summer evenings and will transition perfectly into Fall. Thoughts? Do you agree that Walmart is definitely stepping up your fashion game? I definitely think so, you just have to be strategic about pairing your pieces.

Which version of this look did you like the most? Color-blocking or Monochrome?
