Last August, I celebrated my 30th birthday and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my birthday than to jetset off to Italy. Italy has always been on my list of places to visit. More so, after I saw the movies “Under the Tuscan Sun” and “letters to Juliet”. The little girl in me has been dreaming about falling in love in Italy. I didn’t get to Tuscany or to Verona, like the lead characters in the movie did, but I did fall in love. I fell deeply in love with the Southern Coast of Italy.
My base was in Sorrento and I got to stay in the beautiful Hotel Belair Sorrento. I was lucky enough to get a free upgrade to the Presidential suite which was honestly bigger than my entire Chicago apartment and literally the best place I have ever stayed in. Here’s a break down of the entire hotel and amenities.
Location
We chose Sorrento as our base in the Southern coast because of the east of access to the other coastal towns. Hotel Belair Sorrento is located in a quiet part of town but only a 10min walk from the city center. The best part about this location are the views. It is nestled in the right spot overlooking the Marina Grande Sea Village, while lending views of Mount Vesusius and the Gulf of Naples on a clear day. Hotel Belair Sorrento also has easy access to the ferry and bus station.

The Suite
The Suite was airy and bright with lots of windows and natural light. Best of all, you could take in the amazing views from every room, even the bathroom, because each one had its own terrace facing the sea. The suite has a huge living room fully equipped with a tv, and an observation area with a telescope. It also has 2 bedrooms, a small room and a bigger master bedroom; a huge walk-in closet, two bathrooms, and a Jacuzzi. For me, the best thing about this suite was the terrace in the bedroom. I woke up early each morning to catch the sunrise over the sea. It really was one of the most amazing views ever. My second favorite feature was that this suite had it’s own private rooftop patio which came with a hot-tub and lounge chairs. My friend and I had the best time lounging here and watching the Sant Anna firework show at night. I had a pinch moment when I walked into this suite.

Bar & Restaurant
Hotel Belair Sorrento has one of the best restaurants in the city, Belair Restaurant. I had my official birthday dinner there, sitting at the restaurant outdoor patio overlooking the coastline and sea. The food was amazing, and the servers are exceptionally nice and attentive. I also had my breakfast at the restaurant, while some days I had breakfast brought up to our private rooftop patio for some privacy.

Amenities
Hotel Belair has an amazing rooftop pool with spectacular views of the sea and coastline. The pool terrace is also the perfect place to have a light poolside lunch on a lazy afternoon.
The Hotel also has a private stairway that leads you down to the Marina Sea Village where some of the most amazing restaurants at located sea side. On my last night, the girls and I had dinner sea side while we watched the firework show, which is done every Saturday.

Overall Rating
Hotel Belair is definitely beautiful, well kept and has the most amazing staff. The lobby is colorful, food is amazing and the views are one of the best in Sorrento. I definitely recommend.
