Like most people, when we travel, we worry about where to stay. If you are like me, location is very important in my travel planning. Things I look for when choosing a hotel are close proximity to the major sights, safe enough to walk around and ample amounts of restaurants in the area. When I traveled to Rome this past August, I stayed at Hotel Barocco and it fit the bill for all the things I look for in a hotel when I travel.
Location
I spent 4 days at the lovely boutique hotel! Nestled at the corner between Piazza Barberini and Via Purificazione, I couldn’t have asked for a better location. Piazza Barberini hosts it’s own little water fountain and sometimes attracts performers in the evenings which is utterly cute. Most importantly, the hotel was a walking distance to most of the major sights. The Trevi fountain was only 7 mins away and I felt safe enough to stroll to the fountain at midnight to make a birthday wish.
The Room & Amenities.
Hotel Barocco is a fully functional and practical hotel without the fuss. Every corner was spotless and tidy. Albeit housing smaller sized room, the beds were comfortable and clean and perfect for two people to share. Enjoy the most delicious breakfast (be sure to try the pancakes) and complimentary wifi during your stay! The living area is very charming with calls for instagram worthy photos.
The Staff
The Hotel team and staff were phenomenal, warm and so kind. I spent my birthday here and they were so kind to surprise me with a early birthday dessert on the morning of (pictured below). They were more than happy to make recommendations and made our stay as pleasant as possible. The Manger, Cristiano, was the warmest and I couldn’t thank them enough for making my first experience in Italy as great as possible.
