Early in April, my friends and I escaped the chilling Chicago weather to have some fun in the sun in Riviera Maya, Mexico. I had recently quit my job and I wanted some much needed R&R.  We were so thrilled to be able to be hosted by the wonderful Viceroy Riviera Maya Hotel for the getaway. I am going to recap the hotel, as well as the outfits I wore.

Viceroy Riviera Maya is the epitome of a luxurious beach getaway. Situated on the white sands of Riviera Maya, it provides an intimate atmosphere perfect for honeymooners, lovers, or some much needed R&R with your friends or SOLO.

The Villa

The girls and I shared a villa which was perfect for three of us. It housed a huge canopy king sized bed bedroom, a walk in closet and the biggest bathroom you could ever imagine. The bathtub was positively divine and beckons on you to take a long bath. Each room in the villa also has its own patio with a dip pool and hammock , which I absolutely loved. Everything screamed luxury and refined taste.

On my first morning at the villa, we had a lazy morning and ordered breakfast in bed. I couldn’t resist staying in this comfy bed a few more hours.

The Pool

What is a beach vacation without a pool for when you don’t want to be in the ocean. We spent many hours dipping in the pool, cooling off and talking. It also provided the best backdrop for photos, naturally.

I also spent so many hours enjoying this hammock. Each Villa has one.

The Beach

Viceroy Riviera Maya is a beach front resort. We could actually see the beach from our room and what a sight it was to wake up to every morning. The ocean was a beautiful greenish blue, and the resort had its own board-walk on the ocean. There was some sea-weed on the shoreline but the staff did a great job of cleaning up as much as possible that came out to shore. The Resort also had its own beautiful cabanas around the property, in secluded corners and on the beach.

Naturally, I took advantage of the ocean and the pool. Thankfully I had an arsenal of swimsuits in tow. This striped and floral piece was an attention grabber!

The Spa

One of the most appealing amenities of the spa was it’s amazing spa & spa services. The Spa is fully equipped with its own jacuzzi & sauna complimentary for any guest. The massage rooms were very unique, half indoors and outdoors, yet secure and private. It created an amazing atmosphere of getting a massage out in a very peaceful tropical forest. My experience was amazing!

The Service

Imagine seeing the same faces almost everyday and everyone remembering your name, thats how great it was. They were very attentive and kind, and couldn’t be any more hospitable / accommodating.

The Food

I was positively obsessed with the food! I am not a breakfast person but I never skipped breakfast because it was just that good. I had room service on day one but ate at the ocean front restaurant during the rest of my stay. The resorts houses two restaurants Coral Grille and La Marea. La Marea is more expensive but I definitely recommend you try it, at least one night especially if you are a seafood lover.

Overall my experience at Viceroy Riviera Maya was absolutely amazing and relaxing. It is the place to stay at if you looking for a quiet retreat, attentive service and an amazing spa!

Major thanks to the team for being such gracious hosts!
